Accessibility Statement

Our approach

FreePDF aims to make its website and document tools usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, zoom, high-contrast settings or other assistive technologies.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as a practical reference when designing and improving the service. This statement is not a claim that every FreePDF page or tool currently achieves full WCAG conformance.

What we are working to support

• clear heading structure and readable text;
• keyboard-accessible navigation and controls where reasonably practicable;
• visible focus states;
• sufficient text contrast;
• responsive layouts and browser zoom;
• labels and instructions for forms and controls; and
• alternatives or clearer instructions where a visual document interaction is difficult to use with assistive technology.

Known challenges

PDF manipulation can involve visual canvases, page thumbnails, drag-and-drop ordering, signature placement and other interactions that are inherently difficult to make fully accessible across every browser and assistive technology.

Some third-party PDF formats may also contain accessibility issues that FreePDF cannot correct automatically.
